Obama, Dutch PM meet in Washington next month
23 06 09 From the Associated Press:The White House says President Barack Obama will be meeting next month with Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende to discuss bilateral relations and the Netherlands help with the U.S.-led effort to defeat Taliban and al-Qaida forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The White House said Tuesday that the July 14 meeting is designed to build upon the Netherlands significant contributions to the U.S.-directed NATO effort in Afghanistan and it's participation in the alliance training mission in Iraq. It said the two leaders also will focus on the situation in Iran, peace efforts in the Middle East as well as climate change and energy policies.
